"account": "DAEGU — The Lotte Giants have appointed former champion Lee Dong-wook as their new manager, according to the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) club. The 52-year-old will accept a three-year contract worth 2 billion won ($1.5 million). Lee, who was born and raised in Busan, the Giants' hometown, enjoyed a six-year playing career with the team from 1997 to 2003. Following coaching spells with the LG Twins and the NC Dinos, Lee became the Dinos' manager in 2019, guiding them to their first and only Korean Series title in 2020. Lee's championship season was marked by his adept use of advanced data analytics and communication skills. After being dismissed by the Dinos during the 2022 season, he has since worked as a coach for the national team. The Giants have struggled, finishing in seventh place in the 10-team KBO in each of the last three seasons under manager Kim Tae-hyoung, whose contract was not renewed after three years.",
