"account": "Japanese prosecutors have indicted a US Marine for the murder of a 39-year-old woman in Okinawa, reigniting controversy over the heavy US military presence on the southern island. The 20-year-old suspect allegedly strangled the victim with a telephone cord in a hotel on October 3, stealing her backpack with the wallet and other belongings. The Marine has been charged with robbery as well. Upon his arrest, he denied the allegations, but recent statements suggest some involvement. Crimes committed by US military personnel, including rape, assault, hit-and-run, and drunk driving, have long sparked protests in Okinawa, urging other regions of Japan to share the burden of hosting US troops.",
