"account": "Quinn Hughes, the former captain of the Vancouver Canucks, is preparing to return to Rogers Arena on Sunday for his first game back in his hometown. The passionate Canucks fan base could potentially greet him with a frosty reception. Quinn has expressed that he is aware of the possible hostile reactions, but remains focused on his performance and grateful for his experiences with the team. Picked seventh overall in the 2018 draft, Hughes spent six-and-a-half seasons with the Canucks before being traded to the Minnesota Wild in December. He signed a six-year, US$47.1-million deal with Vancouver in October 2021, but it seems unlikely he will sign an extension following its expiration. Hughes spent last season with the Wild, finishing with five goals and 48 assists in 48 regular-season games. He has started the 2026-27 season with 14 points in 12 games. The Canucks have struggled since Hughes' departure, finishing last season at the bottom of the NHL standings. Vancouver enters Sunday's game on a nine-game losing streak.",
