"account": "Apple is set to introduce a redesigned iPad mini later this week, marking the first major overhaul of the device since 2021 and the first chip upgrade since 2024. The next iPad mini will sport an OLED display, offering brighter colors, improved contrast, and enhanced brightness compared to the current model. However, the display refresh rate remains uncertain, with reports suggesting a possible 60Hz refresh rate rather than the anticipated ProMotion technology.\n\nThe iPad mini will also be equipped with the new A20 Pro chip, a significant upgrade from the current A17 Pro chip. The A20 Pro is rumored to deliver a 60% boost in multi-core CPU performance and a staggering 166% improvement in GPU performance. This could enable the iPad mini to run Apple's most advanced on-device models locally, enhancing Siri AI capabilities.\n\nIn addition to the improved internals, Apple is reportedly working on making the iPad mini water-resistant. The new casing and redesigned speakers should help protect against water ingress, potentially making the iPad mini the first water-resistant iPad in the lineup.\n\nAccording to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the price of the upcoming iPad mini with OLED and A20 Pro chip could start at $799, a considerable jump from the current $599 starting price. It remains unclear if the base storage will remain at 128GB at this price point, although it would be preferable to see a 256GB option to offset the higher cost.",
