"summary": "The Forest department in Kozhikode has registered a case against an elephant owner and his mahout for neglecting an elephant named Cheriyaparambath Gopalan. During an inspection, officials found that the elephant was not being fed the prescribed diet recorded in its care register, which led to severe malnutrition and injuries caused by chain-related sores. Blood samples were sent to Pookode Veterinary College for analysis, and the elephant has since been placed under the care of social forestry officials and veterinary doctors. The owner claimed that the elephant had been receiving treatment from a doctor in Thrissur and had not been used for strenuous work in recent months.",
