"account": "An Israeli settler group, the Amara movement, has submitted proposals for a new Jewish settlement in the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood of East Jerusalem. The application, which outlines a plan to build 122 housing units on the former site of the Shepherd Hotel, is set to undergo an initial hearing before Jerusalem’s Local Planning and Building Committee on November 11th. The Shepherd Hotel, also known as the Mufti's House, was constructed in the 1930s for Haj Amin al-Husseini, the former mufti of Jerusalem, although he never lived there. The hotel was demolished in 2009. This development marks a first for the Amara movement, as they have not previously established a settlement in Sheikh Jarrah. The announcement of this proposal comes amid ongoing Israeli military operations in Hebron, where at least 20 Palestinians have been detained and more than 2,200 displaced. Additionally, Palestinian homes in Hebron have been turned into barracks and observation posts by Israeli forces.",
