"summary": "President Donald Trump instructed his administration to file a lawsuit to preemptively block the certification of the Alaska Senate race if Republican Senator Dan Sullivan loses, according to France 24. Trump argued that voters would be confused because two Republicans on the ballot have similar names. The Hill reports that the Justice Department filed the lawsuit on Thursday, claiming the presence of a candidate with the same name as Sullivan could cause such confusion.\n\nThe legal action has drawn challenges from candidate Mary Peltola and a voters' rights group, according to CNBC. Additionally, the nonprofit watchdog Common Cause, represented by attorneys from the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), has filed a motion to intervene in the Justice Department's lawsuit, according to The Hill.",
