"account": "Gizela Tetteh-Agbotui, the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya West, expressed confidence that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will maintain control of the parliamentary seat in the upcoming general election. This despite the recent election of an NPP regional chairman, Dr Kwabena Essibu, from the constituency. Dr Essibu was recently chosen as the Central Regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).\n\nDuring the recent NDC constituency executive elections, Tetteh-Agbotui dismissed concerns that Dr Essibu's election could bolster the NPP's prospects of winning the parliamentary seat. She reiterated her commitment to safeguarding the seat, which she described as a crucial electoral hold for the party. Tetteh-Agbotui disclosed that she personally congratulated Dr Essibu on his election, but made it clear that she remained determined to retain the constituency for the NDC.\n\n\"I called him and congratulated him, but this seat, you are not taking it anywhere,\" Tetteh-Agbotui stated, emphasizing her party's determination to protect the seat they have worked hard to secure. She also urged NDC members to maintain unity following the constituency executive elections, encouraging the newly elected officials to work diligently to strengthen the party's structures and mobilize members in preparation for the next general election. These remarks come as both the NDC and NPP are actively organizing their internal affairs and positioning themselves for future electoral contests.",
