"account": "President Bola Ahmed Tinubu cautioned Nigerians against being misled regarding the end of fuel subsidies, asserting that it is a part of Nigeria's historical context. He made these remarks while inaugurating his re-election campaign in Kaduna on Saturday. Tinubu assured voters of a brighter future and implored them to exercise caution against being deceived by those seeking their endorsement. He urged Nigerians to be vigilant and critically evaluate the claims made by candidates. \"Be careful, watch them, don’t let them lie to you,\" Tinubu instructed. The president defended the administration's decision to abolish the petrol subsidy regime in 2023, describing it as a relic of the past. \"What is the past is the past, fuel subsidy is in our past, no more corruption, no more falsification of invoices, no more lies, no more smuggling of fuel,\" he stated. At the campaign kickoff, Tinubu appealed to his supporters, emphasizing that the destiny of Nigerians rested in their hands. \"Your prosperity is here. Your future is in your hands, your fingerprints will reflect it,\" he emphasized. Tinubu called upon Nigerians to re-elect him, promising a better tomorrow if given another chance. \"May you give me the privilege to promise you once again of a better tomorrow,\" he concluded. Notably, Atiku Abubakar of the African Democratic Congress had pledged to restore fuel subsidies; however, Tinubu's administration dismissed the claim as mere propaganda.",
