"summary": "President John Mahama has urged African countries to take greater responsibility for financing their own peace operations and curbing illicit financial flows, emphasizing the need for the continent to take charge of its own security and development. Speaking at the 12th Tana High-Level Forum on Peace in Africa in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia, Mahama highlighted the importance of reducing dependence on external funding and building technological resilience. He argued that Africa must \"author and fund our destiny ourselves,\" as reliance on foreign governments leaves the continent vulnerable to external decisions.",
