"account": "The Delta State Police Command successfully rescued a 23-year-old kidnapping victim on October 20, 2026, and apprehended eight suspects across the state over a four-day period starting on October 20, 2026. The police recovered three firearms, 26 live cartridges, and substances suspected to be Indian hemp during the operations conducted by the Owa-Oyibu Division, which worked alongside local volunteer groups. The victim had been abducted on October 19, 2026, and was found in a bush near his residence following a report lodged by his brother.\n\nAdditionally, on October 23, 2026, operatives of the Violent Crime Response Unit conducted a raid on a hotel in Abraka, suspected to be a hideout for drug-related activities. Six suspected cultists were arrested, and a firearm, along with suspected Indian hemp, was seized. Subsequent to this, on October 21, 2026, the Special Anti-Kidnapping Unit, Sector III, Ubuluku, raided a residence in Ekuku-Agbor community, where a 62-year-old suspect, Richard Nmorsi, was apprehended with a locally made firearm, 24 live cartridges, and suspected Indian hemp. On October 23, 2026, another raid on the residence of a 56-year-old suspect, Amechi Osemeke, resulted in the recovery of a serviceable double-barreled firearm and a live cartridge. Both suspects are under investigation to determine the circumstances of their firearm possession. Delta Police Commissioner, CP Samuel Erale, emphasized that the command would continue intelligence-led operations to dismantle criminal networks and protect the community, urging residents to provide credible information to the police.",
