"account": "The Janata Dal (United) expelled its Mokama MLA Anant Kumar Singh and his wife Neelam Devi from the party for six years on October 24, 2026. The party cited Anant's \"anti-party activities,\" disregard for its directives, and campaigning in favor of the opposition JSP candidate Anuj Singh. Anant Singh had allegedly supported JSP candidate Anuj Singh over the JD(U)'s official candidate Neeraj Kumar in the MLC election. His wife, former MLA Neelam Devi, was also expelled for similar reasons. The JD(U) further urged State Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar to terminate Anant's membership from the House. Singh countered the expulsion claim by stating he had complete loyalty to party founder Nitish Kumar and had made significant sacrifices for the party.",
