"account": "In 2019, the Metropolitan Police (Met) received a letter containing allegations about Thomas Markle, father of the Duchess of Sussex, according to Scotland Yard. The letter, which was sent to the Met's Protection Command, included claims of alleged criminal activity outside of the United Kingdom against Markle. The Met did not share the information with other law enforcement agencies. Markle, who lives in the United States, denies possessing any child sexual abuse images. In 2018, Meghan Markle was informed about disturbing allegations regarding her father. The claims were first reported by The Sun newspaper, which later confirmed that the letter made direct accusations of child sex abuse against Markle. The Met is currently reviewing its handling of the matter and considering whether to refer it to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).",
