"account": "Israeli green card holder Yehuda Peer has been charged with illegally voting in the 2024 US presidential election, according to the US Department of Justice. Peer, who is a lawful permanent resident of the United States but not a US citizen, is accused of voting as an alien. Nine residents of Pennsylvania have been charged with this crime, including individuals from Poland, Cuba, Kenya, Russia, Greece, and the Netherlands. If convicted, Peer and the others could face a fine, up to one year in prison, or both. US Attorney Brian Miller stated that illegal voting undermines the integrity of elections and harms citizens by stealing their right to vote. Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent Nathan Abel added that such violations undermine public confidence in democratic institutions and harm citizens whose votes are supposed to determine the nation's future.",
