"account": "The federal government has achieved a significant legal victory by securing the conviction of 653 individuals accused of terrorism offenses during a mass trial at the Federal High Court in Abuja. Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, revealed this information during an interview with journalists shortly after attending proceedings in the ongoing trial. Fagbemi, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), stated that since the latest phase of the trial commenced, a total of 880 cases had been determined by the courts. Of these cases, 653 resulted in convictions, while seven individuals were acquitted and 27 were discharged. Fagbemi emphasized that the trial is not yet complete, but as of 12:15pm on the day of the interview, 880 defendants had been tried. He also noted that the large number of cases being tried simultaneously is a result of cooperation and guidance from the judiciary, prosecution counsel, defense team, and other stakeholders. Fagbemi expressed gratitude to all parties involved for their contributions to the smooth conduct of the proceedings and clarified that journalists were not restrained from covering the trial.",
