"account": "NanaYaw Wiredu, a media entrepreneur and talent manager, stated that the recent social media incident involving Ghanaian musician Mr. Drew would not have taken place under his watch. A segment on Woezor TV’s Breakfast Café highlighted Mr. Drew’s heated exchange with a participant during an X Space discussion. The controversy arose after the participant referred to Mr. Drew as “chale,” triggering a tense argument over age and financial differences. The exchange culminated in insults from both sides. \"Recently you saw what happened to Mr. Drew. It will never happen under my watch,\" Wiredu asserted. He explained that his artists are trained to handle such situations on television, radio, and in challenging scenarios. Wiredu emphasized that artiste development encompasses more than just chart-topping hits and promotional efforts; it also includes equipping musicians to navigate public attention and maintain positive relationships with their audience. The X Space incident involving Mr. Drew took place when he hosted a session to connect with fans and promote his single, \"Steeze.\" The discussion became heated after the participant addressed him as “chale,” a casual term often used among friends in Ghana. Mr. Drew objected to the way he was addressed, insisting that the participant was not his friend and arguing that age, social status, and financial disparity should be acknowledged. \"I am not your mate. A lot of people think I am their mate, but I am not your mate. A lot of the boys think they are my age mates. When it comes to money and age, I am not your mate, and you need to put that in your head,\" he declared. The participant rebutted Mr. Drew’s response, asserting that he was not an A-list artiste to make such distinctions. The confrontation spiraled, with both individuals hurling insults and Mr. Drew threatening to block the participant. The incident garnered significant backlash on social media, with some users questioning Mr. Drew’s reaction, while others argued that artists should be treated respectfully during online interactions. Later, Mr. Drew clarified that his outburst was directed at trolls rather than his genuine fans. Wiredu’s comments underscore the significance of preparing musicians for public engagement as part of their professional development. In September 2023, Wiredu, the founder and creative director of Oneplay Africa, launched a free online Music Master Series to assist emerging entertainment executives in understanding the business aspects of the music industry. With a background in artiste management, publicity, publishing, events management, and digital media, Wiredu has worked with notable artists such as Nana Yaa, D-Flex, and Mzbel. He has also managed events like Ghana Meets Naija and Mzbel at 10. Currently, he serves as the PR Manager for Edem Goget’em.",
