"account": "Singapore’s Miss Universe 2026, Vion Erico Tan, has announced she will not compete in the 75th Miss Universe pageant in Puerto Rico on November 24. The decision came after the Miss Universe Organisation (MUO) deemed franchise agreements with six Southeast Asian countries invalid. Vion expressed her disappointment and emphasized that representing Singapore on the international stage was about the people behind her and her determination to show Singapore's capabilities. Six South-East Asian representatives, including Malaysia's representatives, face the same fate. The Miss Universe Organisation stated that they could not reasonably send the six representatives due to uncertainties. The Miss Universe Singapore Organisation expressed disappointment but supported MGI's decision, stressing that the pageant should celebrate women's empowerment, equality, diversity, and opportunity. Vion, who was crowned Miss Universe Singapore 2026 on October 13, will continue her preparations for the 2027 pageant.",
