"summary": "Iran has reportedly drawn up detailed plans to target undersea communications cables in the Gulf if the US and Israel attack Iran again, according to two senior Iranian security officials speaking to Reuters. The officials suggested that Iran would aim to prevent repairs after any attacks to prolong disruptions to communications, including internet connections. While the global impact of such attacks could be limited, as less than one per cent of international bandwidth passes through the Strait of Hormuz, the threat reflects Iran's belief that a renewed US military campaign would require a stronger response. Analysts note that multiple cable cuts could slow internet services and disrupt financial transactions, e-commerce, and cloud computing.",
