"account": "On 23 October, a Russian drone strike sank the Khoryv, a cargo ship flying the Comoros flag, in the Black Sea near Romania's Constanța port. The attack resulted in the death of a Ukrainian sailor and left three crew members missing, with nine others rescued and four survivors taken to a hospital. The ship had been traveling from a Turkish port, and Ukrainian authorities confirmed the death of one Ukrainian sailor. Romanian President Nicușor Dan blamed Russia for the attack, describing it as part of Moscow's escalation of the war against Ukraine and its assaults on NATO's eastern flank. The incident highlights the growing risks to commercial shipping as Russia's war against Ukraine increasingly affects maritime traffic beyond Ukraine's own coastline, with NATO planning to bolster surveillance in the region.",
"summary": "The Khoryv capsized about 13 nautical miles off Romania’s coast, with nine crew members rescued and three still missing. The incident adds to a wave of attacks threatening Black Sea shipping and Ukraine’s export routes.",
