"account": "Ilhan Omar, a Congresswoman of Somali origin and a naturalized American citizen, found herself under investigation by federal agents for alleged immigration fraud. Despite no concrete evidence to support these claims, the Trump administration had been repeatedly accusing her of such fraud. Her home in Washington, DC, was raided on the early hours of 12 October 2026, and she was forced to part with numerous personal items. The investigation aimed at stripping her citizenship and deporting her. However, Omar, known for her fiery speeches and challenging Israel's policies, had already been a target for the American right, especially Donald Trump. She became the first African refugee and Somali American to serve in the US House of Representatives. Her relentless questioning of American foreign policy, particularly regarding Israel, often put her at odds with the establishment. The raid on her home marked a significant escalation, setting a precedent that even elected officials are not safe from racist persecution.",
