"account": "Imagine the most dystopian military startup and you may find it has already achieved a billion-dollar valuation in Texas. Palmer Luckey, co-founder of Anduril Industries, and Ben Lamm are pushing forward with Warhound, a venture promising to produce genetically enhanced working dogs for use on the battlefield. Warhound, quietly launched 18 months ago, has already attracted $200 million in funding from tech investors such as Sequoia Capital, giving it a $1.2 billion valuation. Even the CIA's venture capital firm In-Q-Tel is reportedly part of this potentially dangerous enterprise. Warhound aims to create a \"Captain America program for dogs\" that also addresses the welfare of these animals. However, Luckey's background raises serious concerns about his suitability for such a project. His company Anduril Industries, which developed autonomous suicide drones, experienced numerous failures during their deployment in Ukraine, leading to their abandonment in 2024. Additionally, Anduril's anti-drone quadcopter \"Anvil\" crashed in Oregon in 2025, causing a wildfire, and their surveillance drone platform \"Altius\" suffered two catastrophic failures in testing by the US Air Force. Anduril's \"Dive-LD\" submarine drone also went offline for over a day, allowing enemy forces to seize it. With a track record like this, it's clear that Luckey is not an ideal choice to oversee a groundbreaking biotech company focused on creating mutant combat dogs. The fact that investors have pumped in $1.2 billion for Warhound reveals the extent of the US military industrial complex's willingness to exploit innovative technology, regardless of the potential consequences.",
