"account": "President John Dramani Mahama joined Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali to officially launch the Megech Irrigation Development Project in Gondar, Ethiopia. The visit occurred as part of Mahama's official trip to the country, ahead of the 12th Tana High-Level Forum on Security in Africa taking place in Bahir Dar.\n\nUpon arriving at Gondar Airport, Mahama immediately joined the Prime Minister in switching on the dam and reservoir project. This development, which began 18 years ago, had been stalled until Abiy Ahmed Ali revived the project three years ago and oversaw its completion.\n\nSpanning 870 hectares, the Megech Dam boasts a storage capacity of 185 million cubic meters. The facility is anticipated to enhance agricultural productivity by irrigating 17,000 hectares of farmland, thereby bolstering food security in the region. Additionally, the dam will supply a dependable source of clean drinking water to Gondar and its neighboring towns.",
