"summary": "Following the sudden closure of developer BioWare by Electronic Arts, Mass Effect themed crossover items appear to have been removed from Battlefield 6, according to Eurogamer. The shutdown follows EA's recent acquisition by a group of interests including the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia, Jared Kushner’s investment fund, and the equity firm Silver Lake.\n\nThe closure has resulted in the cancellation of the studio's next Mass Effect title, which had been teased in 2020. Ars Technica and The Verge report that a leaked trailer for the project, titled Mass Effect: Universe, surfaced on Reddit. This footage, which uses pre-production assets and in-engine effects, depicts an ex-military officer in an N7 trenchcoat interacting with an Asari character at a bar.\n\nThe leaked montage includes action sequences featuring gunplay and psychic effects. The Verge notes the footage shows a flashback to a fight resembling gameplay from the original trilogy, while Ars Technica describes the video as a roughly two-minute montage.",
