"account": "On October 12, 2026, a 21-year-old illegal miner named Emmanuel Boakye Mensah Bekoe was taken into custody by the Nkawie Circuit Court in Ashanti Region's Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipality. He faces charges of causing unlawful damage, unlawful entry, and theft after allegedly stealing property from Asuowin D/A Junior High School. The court presided over by Robert Addo decided not to take Bekoe's plea at the time due to ongoing police investigations.\n\nThe Headmaster of the school, who served as the complainant, discovered that the metal burglar-proof door and lock to his office were damaged. Further inspection revealed that stolen items included a 43-inch television set, a fridge, seven laptop computers, a tabletop computer, and GH₵1,000, all valued at GH₵31,000. The prosecutor informed the court that Bekoe, known to the police, was arrested on suspicion, and he admitted to the theft, leading police to his residence where the stolen items were found. He is scheduled to return to court on October 28, 2026, to face the charges.",
