"summary": "US First Lady Melania Trump has secured a localized, temporary ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine in the city of Oleshky, according to the White House. The Jerusalem Post reports the ceasefire is scheduled to begin on October 29. The pause in fighting is intended to allow humanitarian aid to enter the area and to facilitate civilian evacuations through a designated safe passageway, as noted by Punch, The Moscow Times, and PBS NewsHour.\n\nCBS News reports that the First Lady's office stated she worked directly with Russian and Ukrainian leadership to define the terms of the agreement. The city of Oleshky is a front-line location that has faced significant flooding following the destruction of the Kakhovka Dam, leaving approximately 90 percent of the city underwater. The Jerusalem Post reports that the current population includes roughly 1,700 to 2,000 people, many of whom are elderly, alongside approximately 50 children.\n\nAccording to CBS News, the First Lady described the situation in Oleshky as dire, noting that remaining residents face limited electricity and mined roads. The Jerusalem Post reports that both nations have assigned teams to coordinate the mechanics of the ceasefire, including demining efforts. As of Friday, Russia and Ukraine have not commented on the announcement.",
