"account": "Donald Trump confirmed on October 23 that the Starshield military communications system has been restored for Ukraine, following a report by the Wall Street Journal. Trump stated that he does not wish to reveal whether he personally contacted Elon Musk, the tech billionaire, to restore the service. The Journal had reported earlier this week that Musk had imposed a speed cap on Ukrainian equipment connecting to Starshield, rendering some of Kyiv's drones ineffective. While Musk had previously stated that any speed or usage limits of Starshield systems, operated by SpaceX, were ultimately decided by the US military and President Trump, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth had previously stated that the Pentagon had not directed any changes to Starshield. Ukraine employs Starshield, Starlink's military-grade satellite service, for battlefield communications, mid-range strikes against Russia-occupied territories, and interceptor drones. Starshield is also utilized alongside SpaceX's civilian Starlink satellite system. Tensions between the United States and Ukraine have escalated recently, with Trump recently urging Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to be replaced following his criticism of a US deal allowing more Russian diesel into global markets.",
