"summary": "Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced on Thursday that he has issued instructions to establish direct flights between Pakistan and the Maldives. Speaking at the Pakistan-Maldives Business Forum, the premier noted the importance of connectivity, stating that there are currently no direct flights from Malé to Islamabad or Karachi. According to Dawn, the Prime Minister has directed the ministry of civil aviation to conduct a quick feasibility study involving Pakistan International Airlines or other Pakistani airlines to facilitate travel for the business community and tourists.\n\nThe announcement took place during a visit by Maldivian President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, who arrived in Islamabad on Tuesday for a three-day trip at the invitation of PM Shehbaz. Dawn reports this is the first visit to Pakistan by a Maldivian president in 11 years, occurring as the two nations celebrate 60 years of diplomatic relations established in 1966. PM Shehbaz stated that President Muizzu has also given instructions to his airline to develop a plan to start flights from the Maldives to Pakistan.\n\nTo facilitate the process, PM Shehbaz said he instructed the civil aviation department to invite a Maldivian delegation to work out a plan for the flights. Dawn - Pakistan reports that the premier intends to send a delegation of Pakistani government officials and businessmen to Malé within approximately one week following the president's return.",
