"account": "Adam Mann has been found guilty by a B.C. Supreme Court jury of second-degree murder for the fatal stabbing of Tori Dunn during a home invasion in Surrey. The trial took less than two hours, with the jury convinced by Crown prosecutors that Mann is guilty. Dunn, 30, sustained four stab wounds, including an 18-centimeter deep one to her abdomen, which led to her death, and two defensive wounds to her hands. A bloody knife with Dunn's DNA on the blade and Mann's DNA on the handle was found on a neighbor's property. Surveillance footage showed Mann near Dunn's home at 9:37 p.m. on June 16, 2024. Mann testified he was homeless and living on the streets in June 2024, claiming he was involved in a fight on a bus, found a knife and cell phone, and tossed them before being arrested. The Crown argued Mann's testimony was vague, improbable, and inconsistent. Mann's defense argued there were significant gaps in the Crown's case. Dunn's boyfriend's father expressed relief and satisfaction with the guilty verdict, noting it was a \"long road\" to justice. Second-degree murder carries an automatic life sentence, and the court will now determine the length of Mann's parole eligibility, which ranges from 10 to 25 years.",
