"summary": "Senate President Godswill Akpabio has cautioned political parties against denying experienced lawmakers tickets to run for re-election, arguing that such a move could weaken democratic governance and deprive the National Assembly of valuable institutional knowledge. Akpabio emphasized that competence, experience, and contributions to lawmaking should be prioritized when selecting candidates, rather than viewing legislative positions as mere political rewards. He cited examples from the United States, highlighting the long service of lawmakers like Robert Byrd and Joe Biden, to illustrate the importance of retaining experienced lawmakers in the Senate.",
