"account": "The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has called for an impartial investigation into the four-year prison sentence given to Nagarta Radio journalist, Farida Isiak, in Kaduna State. The union accused police of arresting Isiak's mother and her father after a minor dispute involving a N100 change from charcoal sales. Isiak, 23, was accused of defamation after publishing a Facebook post about the incident, a charge she later denied and apologized for. The NUJ expressed concern over criminal proceedings against journalists who criticize public officials, warning that such actions could discourage citizens from raising concerns about misconduct. The union urged the police to explain the circumstances surrounding Isiak's arrest and her parents' detention, as well as the judicial authorities to ensure a fair retrial scheduled for November 3, 2026.",
