"account": "Norfolk, Virginia - Former state senator L. Louise Lucas, a prominent critic of former President Donald Trump, has been arrested and charged with federal bribery and racketeering allegations, according to the Justice Department. The 45-page indictment charges Lucas and six others with conspiring to distribute and possess marijuana, launder money, and commit bribery through her legal medical cannabis business. The investigation, initiated during the Biden administration, alleges that Lucas, 82, has been leading the scheme since at least 2019, using her political influence to enact legislation and regulations that benefited herself and co-defendants. Prosecutors claim that Lucas directed the enterprise to buy and sell over 100 kilograms of illegal marijuana. She faces five out of the eight charges in the indictment and is scheduled to appear before a federal magistrate judge.",
