"summary": "The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress announced on Thursday that it was not briefed prior to the announcement of the State Presidential Campaign Committee for President Bola Tinubu's re-election. According to Punch, the party issued this statement a few hours before the campaign council was scheduled to be inaugurated.\n\nSeparately, Femi Otubanjo, a Research Professor at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, stated on Thursday that President Tinubu is not required to campaign in all 36 states before the 2027 general elections. As reported by Daily Post Nigeria, Otubanjo argued that when campaigning, the president acts as the APC presidential candidate rather than the president of Nigeria, and therefore has no obligation to address every citizen through rallies. Otubanjo further distinguished between political rallies, which he described as gatherings intended to mobilize existing supporters, and platforms meant to persuade undecided voters.",
