"summary": "Experts are calling for a national roadmap to expand Pakistan's freelance workforce, highlighting gaps in emerging technology skills, communication, and business development that are hindering freelancers from capitalizing on global opportunities. The Pakistan Freelancers Association (PAFLA) Chairman, Ibrahim Amin, emphasized the need for a stronger, technology-focused freelancing community to enhance digital workers' competitiveness, access international markets, and generate greater foreign exchange earnings. With an estimated three million freelancers, Pakistan ranks among the largest freelance communities globally, and IT and tech exports have reached $435 million in September 2026, with freelancers' exports totaling around $550 million in the first quarter of fiscal year 2026-27. However, industry stakeholders believe that a comprehensive strategy is essential to address existing shortcomings and strengthen Pakistan's digital economy.",
