"account": "Forty years have passed since the assassination of Dele Giwa, a pioneering Nigerian journalist and the founder of Newswatch magazine, yet the identity of his killer remains a mystery. On October 19, 1986, Giwa was ambushed at his home in Lagos by a parcel bomb, which exploded and severely injured him before his death the following day. Giwa, who was only 39 at the time, was a vocal critic of government corruption and an advocate for transparency in public institutions. Just a day before the attack, Giwa had expressed concerns about his safety following a questioning by the State Security Service over his article on the second-tier foreign exchange market. The assassination occurred just two days after this questioning, and rumors have since linked Giwa's murder to his investigations into allegations of arms importation and a drug courier called Gloria Okon. Giwa's legacy as a fearless journalist continues to inspire a new generation of media professionals, who are now focusing on celebrating his courage and urging others to carry on his work in uncovering the truth.",
