"account": "Synology recently introduced the PAS3600, an entry-level storage solution for small and medium-sized businesses at its Annual Press Event 2026. Positioned as the affordable counterpart to the PAS7700, the PAS3600 offers a SATA-based design that is more cost-effective while still featuring an active-active dual controller architecture to minimize downtime.\n\nThe PAS3600 boasts a 12-bay 2U chassis, enabling an expansion of up to 24 drives via the PAX212 unit. Each controller is equipped with up to 256GB of memory, and optional features include 10/25GbE NIC and 16/32G FC. The device runs on DSM Enterprise, a software that shares a similar interface with DSM for other Synology devices, aiming to simplify adoption.\n\nSynology has not yet disclosed the PAS3600's local market availability. Additionally, the company showcased the DP7400, a dedicated backup solution capable of safeguarding up to 2,500 servers with 140TB of raw storage capacity. The DP7400 offers 10GbE LAN ports and a 1GbE management port, and runs on ActiveProtect Manager, ensuring protection for both physical devices and virtual environments, as well as SaaS.\n\nThe company also highlighted the SPU7200D series, high-performance dual-port SSDs designed for use with the PAS series for end-to-end NVMe operations. Specifically, the SPU7200D series is engineered for the PAS7700, delivering up to 140,000 4K write IOPS and optimized for low latency.",
