"account": "On Wednesday, Iran's state media reported explosions in the southern Hormozgan province near the Strait of Hormuz. The official IRNA news agency noted the sounds of several blasts in the Karpan area of Sirik, though it did not clarify if the explosions were intentional attacks or potential missile launches from the region. Local sources have not disclosed the specifics of the explosions, which mark the first such incidents in the area this month. The recent tensions between the US and Iran have been relatively subdued over the past few weeks. The conflict escalated in late February when the United States and Israel carried out attacks on Iran, resulting in the deaths of the supreme leader and several high-ranking military officials. Iran has been imposing a blockade on the vital Strait of Hormuz, demanding ships to obtain authorization before crossing. The strait, in peacetime, facilitated approximately one-fifth of the world's oil supplies. In response, the US has placed a counterblockade on Iranian ports and vessels.",
