"account": "Nigeria's immigration boss, Mrs Kemi Nandap, has called for joint action against irregular migration, stressing that sophisticated border management systems alone are insufficient to address the underlying factors driving such migration. Speaking at the opening of a stakeholders' seminar in Abuja, Nandap urged traditional rulers, sister agencies, the media and the public to play their roles in preventing irregular migration. She emphasized that accurate information is crucial in guiding Nigerians towards lawful migration pathways, warning that decisions based on misinformation or false promises can expose people to serious risks and devastating consequences. Nandap highlighted the importance of sensitising the public, engaging communities and cooperating across institutions in combating misinformation and promoting safe, informed, and lawful migration. The seminar focused on bridging the information gap, with the aim of encouraging informed, safe and regular migration.",
