"summary": "Directed by James Watkins and produced by Matt Reeves, the DC Studios film Clayface is a body-horror psychological thriller. According to Tom's Guide, the movie follows Matt Hagen, an actor played by Tom Rhys Harries, whose career is destroyed after a crime boss leaves him disfigured. Hagen seeks an experimental treatment from a scientist named Caitlyn, played by Naomi Ackie, which restores his appearance but results in terrifying side effects and a loss of reality. Consequence notes that at the start of the film, Hagen is a talented, Oscar-nominated actor who makes a poor choice involving a one-night stand with a woman named Mia.\n\nTom's Guide describes the film as a gruesome and entertaining departure from typical comic-book spectacles, featuring grotesque practical effects and wince-inducing body horror. The project was originally developed by Mike Flanagan and has drawn comparisons to the works of John Carpenter and David Cronenberg’s The Fly. The film is scheduled to be in theaters on October 23.",
