"account": "SACDs, or Super Audio Compact Discs, are making a comeback with the launch of Esoteric's new K1XE SACD player, priced at $45,000 / £38,000. This elite player boasts a proprietary VRDSATLAS transport mechanism and Master Sound Discrete DAC G2. The K1XE, a dual-mono DAC configuration, delivers a full-bodied sound reminiscent of vinyl playback due to its five independent linear power supply systems. An optional external power supply, the PS1XE, is available for an additional $19,000 / £16,500, reducing electrical interference and lowering the noise floor for cleaner SACD sound. The K1XE weighs 34.3kg (75lbs), roughly equivalent to a large adult dog, and is expected to play standard CDs as well.",
"summary": "The Recording Industry Association of America recently stated that CD sales revenue was up 58% in the first half of 2026 and one Japanese ultra-luxury audio manufacturer has decided the same resurgence should apply to SACDs too",
