"account": "Amazon has hiked its Prime membership fees by up to 30% in Australia, effective immediately for new subscribers. The monthly cost jumps from AU$9.99 to AU$12.99, a 30% increase, while the annual price rises from AU$79 to AU$99, a 25% rise. This change is only for new members and will apply to existing members starting from November 25. Amazon attributes the price hike to its expanded delivery footprint, new Prime Video content, access to Alexa+, and additional deals like Prime Day and Prime Big Deal Days. Despite these changes, the inclusions remain unchanged, such as free and expedited delivery, Prime Video, Prime Music, Prime Reading, and more. The price increase comes just before Amazon's Black Friday sale in Australia, which is expected to start a few days before the actual Black Friday on November 27 and run until Cyber Monday on November 30.",
"summary": "Three years after the last price increase, Amazon Australia is once again hiking Prime membership subscriptions to AU$12.99 per month or AU$99 per year.",
