"summary": "Yemeni government troops and local resistance have thwarted Houthi infiltration attempts in Taiz and Marib, inflicting losses on the militia following hours of clashes, according to Ajel English.\n\nThe United Kingdom has announced the deployment of RAF Typhoon fighter jets to provide defensive military support to Saudi Arabia against Houthi missile and drone attacks. According to Euronews, the aircraft will fly defensive counter air missions to protect Saudi cities and critical infrastructure but will not conduct offensive strikes. The UK will also provide an RAF A400M to move defense materiel within Saudi Arabia and will deploy military advisers to assist Saudi staff officers.\n\nGBC Ghana reports that the deployment follows Houthi strikes targeting Riyadh and coastal energy sites, including two strikes on King Khalid International Airport on October 10 and 11 that resulted in 14 deaths and over 300 injuries. The Houthi group stated these strikes were retaliation for aerial bombardments in western Yemen. British Defence Secretary Wes Streeting described the attacks as an intolerable escalation that is dangerous for the region.",
