"summary": "The Ogun State Police Command in Nigeria has successfully rescued 11 Ghanaian nationals from alleged hostage situation following a visa fraud scheme. The victims, consisting of seven males and four females, were lured to Nigeria under the pretense of obtaining Canadian and Spanish visas. The rescue operation, led by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, was initiated after receiving actionable intelligence on October 19, 2026. It was revealed that the victims had each paid GH₵40,000 to a fellow Ghanaian national who promised to help them secure the visas. After their arrival in Nigeria, they were held captive. The victims are currently receiving care and support while efforts are being made to apprehend the members of the criminal network responsible. Ogun State Police Commissioner CP Bode Ojajuni commended the Anti-Kidnapping Unit for their prompt response and professionalism, reaffirming the command's commitment to combating transnational crime and protecting lives.",
