"account": "President Bola Tinubu has paid tribute to Pa Reuben Fasoranti, the leader of Afenifere, who has passed away at the age of 100. Tinubu described Fasoranti as an elder statesman, an icon and a beacon of principle, and one of the final great titans of Chief Obafemi Awolowo's progressive family. The centenarian made significant contributions to Nigeria as an educationist, public servant, politician and champion of democracy. Tinubu recalled Fasoranti's tenure as an educationist, his role as Commissioner for Finance in the former Western Region, and his leadership within Afenifere. He emphasized Fasoranti's unwavering commitment to Nigerian unity, progress, true federalism, social justice and a Nigeria that benefited all citizens. Tinubu also highlighted Fasoranti's prayers and counsel during his presidential campaign, expressing hope that the elder statesman would live to see the administration's economic growth and prosperity plans. The President expressed his condolences to the Fasoranti family, the people of Akure, the Ondo State Government and South-West Nigeria, praying for their peaceful repose and comfort.",
