"account": "The Nigerian government has paid N4.25 billion in overdue pension and severance benefits to 600 former employees of the defunct Nigeria Airways Limited, increasing the total number of beneficiaries to 3,300. This latest disbursement is part of the ongoing effort to settle financial obligations to the airline's former workers, who had been awaiting resolution of their pension and severance entitlements for more than two decades following the airline's liquidation in 2003. The Federal Ministry of Finance announced the payment in a statement, noting that the first nine batches of beneficiaries accounted for 2,700 individuals, while the most recent payment covers the remaining 600 eligible individuals. The N4.25 billion payout represents an average gross benefit of approximately N7.09 million per beneficiary, though individual payments may vary based on entitlements. The ministry has not disclosed the total amount paid in the previous nine batches or the overall outstanding liability to the airline's former employees.",
