"summary": "The Senate is seeking to extend education funding to include federal unity colleges and Armed Forces senior secondary schools, as outlined in the National Senior Secondary Education Commission (Amendment) Bill, 2026. Sponsored by Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, the bill aims to strengthen the legal framework governing senior secondary education and improve coordination, funding, and delivery of intervention programmes across the country. The proposed amendments would establish education boards at state and Federal Capital Territory levels, bringing intervention programmes closer to schools and communities they were designed to serve.",
