"summary": "President John Dramani Mahama has called on the Regent of Dagbon, Kampakuya-Naa Yakubu II, to maintain peace and unity within the region, building on the legacy of his predecessor, the late Ya-Naa Abukari II. Speaking at the Presidency, Mahama emphasized the importance of peace in Dagbon, describing it as a precious achievement that must be safeguarded through responsible leadership, mutual respect, and constructive engagement among traditional authorities and their communities. He encouraged the Regent to engage with families and communities to deepen unity and resolve disputes through dialogue rather than confrontation. The President also extended condolences to the Regent over the passing of his father, acknowledging the efforts made to provide medical care for the late Ya-Naa, including facilitating his treatment in South Africa. Mahama praised the Regent's commitment to continuing his father's work and highlighted the legacy of the late Ya-Naa as a bridge-builder whose memory should inspire further efforts to strengthen relationships among communities. The Regent's installation was seen as a reflection of the prevailing peace in Dagbon, but Mahama cautioned that the new role would require wisdom, patience, and fairness in dealing with the diverse interests within the traditional area. In return, the Regent's delegation thanked Mahama for attending the late Ya-Naa's Islamic funeral and for participating in the installation of the new Regent, reaffirming the administration's respect for Dagbon's customs and traditions.",
