"account": "The Ashanti Regional Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has identified political divisions among teachers as a contributing factor to management issues at the Obuasi Senior High Technical School. The committee's report, which stemmed from an investigation into disturbances on August 4, 2026, highlights how internal management matters were sometimes brought to political offices in the community, leading to broader staff divisions and resistance to the headmaster's administration. The committee recommended that the GES take steps to reduce political influence within schools and urged the service to discourage interference from former students and other external groups. The unrest, which saw the headmaster assaulted and property damaged, was also linked to staff factions and opposition to the headmaster's appointment, as well as a lack of adherence to discipline and accountability. The committee suggested derecognising informal staff associations and reorganising school committees to promote professionalism and balanced representation.",
