"account": "The Obuasi Senior High Technical School's sports master, Kwasi Brefo, is accused of mobilising students to attack the headmaster in August 2026. According to a report by the Ashanti Regional Directorate of the Ghana Education Service, Mr Brefo's actions significantly contributed to the escalation of a protest into a physical assault on the headmaster. The committee found that Mr Brefo urged the headmaster to admit to burying a baby on the school grounds while students were attacking him. This conduct was deemed serious and inconsistent with a teacher's responsibility. Mr Brefo claimed he intervened and pleaded with students to stop assaulting the headmaster, but admitted to telling the headmaster to confess during the attack. The committee recommended referring staff and students with suspicious or concerning conduct to disciplinary authorities for further hearings. The headmaster was also named in the recommendation. The committee identified weak security, staff divisions, student gangs, and a breakdown of trust within the school community as factors that contributed to the disturbances.",
