"account": "LPG prices in Pakistan have skyrocketed to unprecedented levels, leaving millions of households grappling with the financial strain. Supply interruptions and border closures are largely to blame for this sudden surge, but the government remains tight-lipped on the matter. The price of LPG has skyrocketed to Rs. 600 per kilogram in mountainous regions and Rs. 500 per kilogram in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces.\n\nIrfan Khokhar, chairman of the LPG Distributors Association, revealed that a domestic LPG cylinder can now be purchased for Rs. 7,200 in hilly areas and Rs. 6,000 in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He cautioned that prices may continue to soar in the days to come, placing an even greater financial burden on families that rely on LPG for cooking and heating purposes.\n\nAccording to Khokhar, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) had set the October price at Rs. 279 per kilogram, while the official price of a domestic cylinder was fixed at Rs. 3,350. He lambasted OGRA for neglecting to bridge the substantial discrepancy between the official rates and the prevailing market prices, alleging that consumers are being overcharged.\n\nTo stem the tide of soaring prices, Khokhar urged the government to utilize the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) terminal and facilitate immediate LPG imports. This would help boost supplies and stabilize the market. The article \"LPG Prices Hit Record High Across Pakistan\" was originally published on ProPakistani.",
