"summary": "Presidential candidate Peter Obi of the Nigeria Democratic Congress has defended his comments urging Nigerians living in the UK to reject money requests from family members back home. Obi clarified that he never asked his diaspora supporters to abandon their families, stating that his concern was Nigeria's reliance on foreign remittries for basic needs. He emphasized that Nigerians abroad should not stop supporting their families but that Nigeria should create an environment where citizens can provide for themselves and their loved ones without financial assistance from abroad.",
